r~ <br />u <br />129 - Worfka silty clay loam. 6 to 15 percent slo <br />The Worfka soil is shallow, fine-textured and well-drained. It developed <br />from montmorillonitic, calcareous residuum. Small areas of Redcreek and Rentsac <br />soils and rock outcrop were included in mapping. Redcreek soils are shallow and <br />more loamy. Rentsac soils are shallow and loamy-skeletal. These soils and rock <br />outcrop occupy less than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is brown sily clay loam about 3 <br />inches thick. The subsoil is yellowish brown silty clay about 7 inches thick. <br />The substratum is pale brown silt loam about d inches thick and is underlain <br />with interbedded shale and sandstone at a depth of 18 inches. <br />The Worfka soil has moderately slow permeability and moderately rapid runoff. <br />'The erosion hazard is moderate to high from water. Available waterholding capacity <br />• is moderate. Effective rooting depth is 10 to 20 inches. <br />This soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. Cne vegetation <br />is primarily big sagebrush and mixed perennial grasses. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil mateiral is d inches. This material <br />is rated poor to fair with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />
