<br />127 - Kinnear loam, 2 to 5 percent slopes. <br />The Kinnear soil is deep, loa.ny and well-drained. It developed from loamy <br />calcareous alluvium on valley-filling fans, Small areas of Potts and Purley soils <br />were included in mapping. Potts soils are deep but more developed. Kinnear soils <br />are deep but less developed. These soils occupy less than 15 percent of the <br />mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is pale brown loam about 5 inches <br />thick. The upper subsoil is pale brown loan about 6 inch's thick. fhe subsoil <br />is light yellowish brown loam about 8 inches thick. 'The lower subsoil is very <br />pale brown calcareous loan about 17 inches thick. 'fha substratum is very pale <br />brown calcareous loam about 27 inches thick and is underlain with calcareous <br />loam alluvium at a depth of b3 inches. <br />• The Kinnear soil has moderate permeability and ;nediu,n runoff. 'The erosion <br />hazard is moderate from wind and water. Available waterholding capacity is <br />moderately high. Effective rooting depth is more than o0 inches. <br />This soil is uszd for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. fha vegetation <br />is primarily mixed perennial grasses, patches of cheatgrass and big sagebrush. <br />fhe average depth of suitable topsoil material is ti0 inches. This material <br />is rated fair to good with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />
