<br />126 - Moyerson stony clay loam, 15 to b5 percent slopes. <br />The Moyerson soil is shallow and well-drained. It developed from calcareous <br />shale residuum on ridgetops and steep sideslopes. Small areas of Abor, Chipeta, <br />Dollard, Rentsac and Redcreek were included in mapping. These soils occupy less <br />than 15 percent of the mapping unit. <br />In a typical profile, the surface layer is light yellowish brown about 2 <br />inches thick. The subsurface soil is light yellowish brown channery loam about <br />5 inches thick. The substratum is pale brown calcareous enannery silty clay about <br />14 inches thick and is underlain with fractured, interbedded sandstone, loamstone, <br />and shale at a depth of 14 inches. <br />The Moyerson soil has moderately slow to slow permeability and medium to <br />moderately rapid runoff. The erosion hazard is low to moderate from wind and <br />• moderate to high from water. Available waterholding capacity is moderate. <br />Effective rooting depth is 10 to 20 inches. <br />Phis soil is used for livestock grazing and wildlife habitat. The vegetation <br />is primarily mixed perennial grasses, sparse big sagebrush and sore areas of <br />cheatgrass. <br />The average depth of suitable topsoil ,naterial is 8 inchas. this material <br />is rated poor to fair with suitability decreasing with depth. <br />• <br />
