Illustration C gives rysults of the laboratory
analyses.
Areas with exposyd rock or soils too shallow (often flagoy or channery) to be
of practical use for topsoil removal and reclamation were designated as rock
outcrop. The deep soils have from one to ten fret or ,Wore of substrata or
• decomposed parent material which is suitably as a plant-growth medium.
a. TOPSOIL SUITABILITY CLASSIFICATION
Thy soils series and series variants have been classified from 1 to 4. Class
1 represents soil material with fair to good topsoil suitability to a depth of
more than 40 inches. Class 2 includes moderately deep soil .naterials with 20
to 40 inches of fair to good topsoil. Class 3 contains soil materials with fair
to good topsoil suitability to a depth of 10 to 20 inch°s.
