instances of harm to grazing or browsing animals has been reported (personal
communication, Pat Tripp, SCS, Meeker, 1981). Therefore, no special handling
of topsoil or subsoil material is deemed necessary.
Clay Percent
The percentage of clay is high in one increment each of Area 2 and hole 9A. The
clay amounts of 48 and 49 percent, respectively, are marginally unsuitable.
However, surrounding strata have much less clay, reducing any potential problems
with too heavy textures since mixing should moderate textures.
Other Parameters
•
Values for other physical and chemical parameters are all rated suitable. These
values are well within the range of observations for soil and alluvium in this
area.
7.
