<br />WORFKA SERIES <br />Taxonomic Classification: Fine, montmorillonitic, shallow family of Borollic <br />Haplar3ids. <br />Batting: Worfka soils are on a few upland sideslopes. They have formed in <br />residuum on relatively old upland side slope s. Slopes are 6 to 15 percent. <br />General Characteristics: Worfka soils era well-drained with ~noderataly sloe <br />permeability and moderately rapid runoff. Vegetation is primarily big sagebrush <br />and ~.nixad perennial grasses. <br />Range in Characteristics: Textures are primarily silty clay loan to silty <br />clay with more than 35 percent clay. Coarse fragment content is 0 to 10 percent <br />with accumulations of visible secondary calcium carbonate below 10 inches. <br />• Reaction is mildly to ,noderately alkaline with variable alkalinity with depth. <br />Depth to bedrock is 10 to 20 inches. <br />Type Location: 1050 feet W, 1250 feet south of the northeast corner of Section <br />21, I2N, R101W.
