<br />Typical Profile: Turley Variant loam. <br />Al (0-3"): Light yellowish brown (10YR 6/4) loam, yellowish brown (10YR <br />5/4) moist; weak coarse platy and moderate fine platy structure; soft, very <br />friable, slightly sticky and slightly plastic; common roots; slightly <br />effervescent; moderately alkaline (pH 8.1); char smooth boundary. <br />AC (3-10"): Yellowish brown (tOYR 5/4) sandy loam, dark yellowish brown <br />(10YR 3/4) ;hoist; moderate fine subangular blocky structure; soft, very friable, <br />nonsticky and nonplastic; common roots; mildly alkalin° (pH 7.6); gradual smooth <br />boundary. <br />C1 (10-20"): Pale brown (10YR 6/3) sandy loan, dark yellowish brown (tOYR <br />5/4) :hoist; weak medium subangular blocky structure; slightly hard to hard, <br />friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; common roots; strongly effervescent; lime <br />• disseminated; mildly alkaline (pH 7.6 ); gradual smooth boundary. <br />C2 (20-50"): Light gray (10YR 7/2) sandy loam, brown (10YR 5/3) moist; <br />massive; slightly hard to hard, friable, nonsticky and nonplastic; few roots; <br />violently effervescent; lime disseminated; moderately alkaline (pH d.0 to 8.3). <br /> <br />
