Westside Gravel
Division Of Minerals & Geology
Construction Material 112 Permit Application
EXHIBIT E
Reclamation Plnn
Five mining phases have been identified on the pre mining map. (Exhibit C).
Each of the parcels will be mined and reclaimed in an ongoing operation. As
discussed in the mining plan, it is anticipated that between ten and fifteen
acres will be active nt any one time. Arty existing topsoil will be stripped ar~d
stockpiled along the edg¢ of the areas. Any overburden that is encountered
will be stockpiled separately. The stockpiles will then be seeded as
recommended by the local soil conservation district and protected from
erosion by berms, silt fences, and hay bales.
Slopes will all be left at a slope of 3:1 or flatter in their final configuration.
Upon completion of the grovel mining from the area, the overburden, crusher
rejects and topsoil will replaced in a controlled manner in the disturbed
areas. The area will then be seeded and fertilized as recommended by the
local Soil Conservation Oisirict to return it to rangeland status. Noxious
weed control will be of utmost importance throughout the duration of this
mining operation and until full reclamation is achieved. Existing vegetation
consists mainly of western whentgrass, indinn riceyrass, neeclleandthreod
grass, blue grnrna, muttongrass, big sagebrush, gnmbel oak, pinyon, and Utah
juniper.
Owzr~burd~.n and topsoil will be placed nt 4" to 12" depending uponnvnilnbility,
Any droirwges wifl be addressed with erosion control device. until vegetation
is established. Reclamation of the site will be an ongoing operation and will
occur in conjunction with the mining phases.
