REHABILITATION: Rehabilitation of this area primarily involves some
backfilling, a great deal of slope reduction, and topsoil
redistribution.
The area to the north of the ditch outlet from under Academy
Boulevard should be backfilled to remove the cut. This backfilling will
probably require haulage of waste from the operation combined with the
use of non-topsoil material on adjacent land. The southern end of this
fill will have a 3:1 elope with the toe of the slope located not closer
than 25 to 30 feet north of the outlet of the ditch. A two to three
foot high berm will be left just north of the ditch outlet to help
reduce sedimentation into the ditch.
All other west facing slopes will be graded to a 3:1 slope using a
cut and fill approach in existing materials. Soil should not be used to
create any slopes. A two or three foot high berm will be left along the
base of the graded slopes. This will act as a sediment trap to help
reduce sedimentation in the ditch.
The final step in preparing the area for revegetation will be the
redistribution of stockpiled topsoil on the graded elopes. No
stockpiled soil or overburden should remain after placing the soil on
the slopes.
The site will then be seeded and maintained.
TIMETABLE: Complete alI grading work by March 1, 1992• Seed prior to
March 15, 1992.
AREA 2E:
LOCATION: East of Area 1E and west of the northern portions of Area /,E.
AREA: 1.21, acres. (Somewhat indefinite but it is estimated the soil
will cover the area shown on the map.)
CONDITION: Contains a linear soil stockpile on the east end of the
area.
REHABILITATION: IIaing a dozer spread the soil westward over the area
that was formerly stripped. Seed area upon completion.
TIMETABLE: Complete by March 1, 1992• Seed by March 15, 1992•
AREA 3E:
LOCATION: To the north of the bridge across the Fountain Mutual Ditch.
AREA: 0.26 acres.
CONDITION: Completed with rehabilitation other than seeding. The soil
stockpile in this area was spread over the area.
TIMETABLE: Seed prior to March 15, 1992•
January 21, 1992 Disturbance Reduction Plan M-73-007 Page 2
