DISTURBANCE REDUCTION PLAN
DANIELS SAND PIT #2
M-73-007
January 21, 1992
MAP AND CROSS SECTIONS: Enclosed is a map that shows the topography as
of October 1991 and the permit boundaries in accordance with the 1985
amendment to the permit. Six different areas are defined on the map.
These are the areas where disturbance reduction will occur. The arrows
on the map that are "attached" to various stockpiles show the
approximate direction the soil will be distributed when the work is
performed.
The four cross sections included at the end of this narrative
display an approximation of the final topography on Area W (northwest
corner of the section of the operation west of Academy Boulevard) and
Area 1E located east of Academy Boulevard. The sections are fully
labeled. Sections are not provided for the other areas because the
changes in the topography in these areas will essentially return the
land to its pre-mining topography through simply the redistribution of
overburden and topsoil.
Each of the cross sections has a considerable amount of vertical
exaggeration. The scale in feet per millimeter is shown on each of the
axes. The amount of vertical exaggeration can be calculated from these
scaling figures. As s result of this exaggeration, slopes appear to be
much steeper than they actually will be. This exaggeration should be
taken into account when the sections are studied.
DESCRIPTIONS OF EACH AREA DEFINED ON THE MAP
AREA 1E:
LOCATION: Immediately east of the Fountain Mutual Ditch easement which
is east of Academy Boulevard.
AREA: 10.5 acres.
DESCRIPTION: Much oP the disturbance created in this area was the
result of realigning the ditch when it was placed under Academy
Boulevard. This area was to be the most westerly limit of mining in
this phase of the operation. But with the upcoming amendment, it does
not appear this area will be mined for quite some time. Therefore, this
entire area can be reclaimed, although it will be redisturbed at some
time in the distant future.
January 21, 1992 Disturbance Reduction Plan M-73-007 Page 1
