(4) All backslling and grading shall be completed as soon as feasible after the mining process.
The applicant shall establish reasonable timetables consistent with good mining practices and
reclamation procedures.
Grading of the backslopes and Lakeshore will be formed as mining proceeds, consistent with mining,
stockpiling and equipment movement. Reclamation will consist of topsoiling the backslopes to the
water line and the Lakeshore area with 4" - 6" of topsoil.
(5) There will be no refitse, acid-forming or toxic materials [hat will be mined or handled on site that
could cause unsightliness or affect the drainage system.
(6) There are no drill or auger holes involved in this operation to be plugged to prevent pollution
drainage. Neither are there any adits or shafts to be closed or reclaimed.
(7) Maximum slopes and combinations shall be compatible with the configuration of
surrounding conditions and selected land use.
The only sloping will be the area leading from the Lakeshore to the pit floor, which will comply with
Rule 3.1.5 (7). From 5 feet above to 10 feet below the expected later line, slopes shall not be steeper
than 3:1 and 2:1 thereafter. This lake will be compatible with [he surrounding lands.
(8) If the operator's choice of reclamation is for agricultural or horticultural crops which
normally require the use of farm machinery, the operator shall grade so that the area can be
traversed by farm machinery.
Since final reclamation is a lake, there will be no farm machinery involved.
(9) An operator may backTill material generated within the permitted area into an excavated
pit within the pit area.
Material generated within [he permit area is proposed [o be used as miscellaneous fill in both this
permit area and adjacent pit areas, plus used to extend the flood dike on the south.
(10) All mined materials to be disposed of within the affected area must be handled in such a
manner to prevent any unauthorized release of pollutants to the surface drainage systems.
All mined materials to be disposed of within the affected area will consist solely of sand and gravel
which are inert. All surface drainage will be retained on site and directed into the lake.
(1) No unauthorized release of pollutants to ground water shall occur from any materials
mined, handled or disposed of within the permit area.
Since final reclamation is [o be a lake, the operator will be especially careful to insure that no
pollutants orpollutant-bearing material will be mined, handled or disposed of within the permit area.
E-3
