Page 2
EXHIBIT B - MINING PLAN
The mining operation to be
surface gravel extraction operation.
consist of stripping and stockpiling
gravel; leveling the mined areas and
with the enclosed reclamation plan.
on the site will consist of the foll
conducted will be a
The operation will
topsoil; removing the
revegetating in accordance
equipment to be used
swing:
Screening plant: Kohlman Model 101
HD - portable
Front End Loader: Caterpillar Model 950
Trucks: Tandem axle dump trucks and
semi truck/trailer dumps
The proposed plan is to begin mining at the north-
west portion of the property and move in a southeasterly
direction. Topsoil and overburden will be stockpiled on the
west edge of the area being mined to facilitate reclamation.
It is estimated that approximately two acres will
be initially disturbed to provide adequate working and
stockpiling area. Approximately five acres will be disturbed
during the first year of operation.
Access to the proposed area will generally be
provided by existing roads. It will be necessary, however,
to ~:onstruct about 320 feet of roadway (see map). The access
road will be progeny maintained by Pioneer Sand Co., Inc.
during the life of the operation. The haul distance from
the mining site to Interstate 25 is approximately 3/4 of
a mile.
To alleviate any dust problems on the access road,
truck speeds will be kept under twenty miles per hour and
the road surface will be graveled. These control measures
hav<: been discussed with the Air Pollution Control Division
of the State and they have indicated their approval. Application
for a Fugitive dust permit will be made, with control measures
listed as follows: reduced truck speed, adequate road maintenance,
and watering if necessary. The present operation was inspected
and approved by the Air Pollution Control Division on July
23, 1980.
The mining equipment to be used will not require
any public services, such as water, electricity, or gas.
EXHIBIT -C- MAP
See attached.
