containment if a spill should occur.
PREPARATION PLANT OII. STORAGE BUILDINGS
These are utilized for storage of oil and flammable liquids. One is located adjacent to the
preparation plant building, the other near the sewage treatment plant building. Both have
concrete floors.
WAREHOUSE BUILDING
Chemicals and oils are temporarily stored in this building during the unloading and
receiving at the mine site. This building has an impervious concrete floor. Minor spills
can be cleaned up immediately without contamination to the outdoor environment. All
hazardous chemicals and oils that are ordered require the Safety and Environmental
Department review of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) before an order is placed
to reduce the amounts of hazardous exposure to the workforce and environment.
WAREHOUSE OIL STORAGE BUILDING
Permanent storage of oils and other flammable products is in this building. It is located
adjacent to the wazehouse and has a concrete floor. Oil absorbent is used to clean up
minor spills or leakage in this building. An outside oil drum rack is located outside of the
building. This area is diked and has an impervious brattice flooring for leak or spill
containment.
SHOP BUILDING -USED OII. AND USED ANTIFREEZE TANKS
There are two outside tanks located on the West side of the shop building. They contain;
l . Antifreeze - 750 gallons
2. Used oil - 2,500 gallons
These tanks have a containment structure and are checked consistently for leakage or
spills.
RAILROAD LOADOUT BUILDING
This location has a 10,000 gallon tank containing a "Side Release Agent". This product is
used in an antifreezing spray system. The product is piped from the tank to the spraying
system location. The tank sits in a containment pad with concrete berms sufficient to
contain the total tank contents. The spraying system uses a steel catch basin that drains
into a 100 gallon above-ground steel tank that prevents spillage and permits recycling of
the product.
