constructed For the processing equipment, please provide inforration regarding dimensions
and whether or not the concrete will be reinforced.
R
ref ,Q~~j7.~~Provide the dimensions of all roads to be constructed or improved from existing roads.
~y~~C~-W You have stated that the Sandstone Quarry was mined pre-law. Provide the dimensions of
f el"~ the pre-law quarry as compared to the planned dimensions of proposed quarry. Show this
information on a map with drawings made to scale. Will all of the pre-law quarry be
~/ redisturbed?
~s~~ 0 !` Your plan says that some topsoil may be available for salvage from the Sandstone Quarry
processing azea. Please be more specific and describe the amount of topsoil available for
savage from this area and describe how much topsoil will be salvaged.
o ~ti~l/"1`/''l
f rMs 10. Your plan includes a sediment pond at the Sandstone Quarry. Please show this pond on your
Y~ ~p,~'''~_ f ~3~ ' Mining Plan Map and provide the same information as requested in item 4 above. Provide
`(,~ t~ ~ drawings to show how your sediment pond will dischazge through a check dam or straw
~ r~,tt~v`f ~,/~ bales.
"V~l
dye ~`
(Li~~i~gi2.
`~
J~
r~'ytv~l/ ~-r
bp~~ << ,M~I~
S- ~ ~ r''^
r"
2
~~s~~ov~
D~
In your section 1.4, paragraph 2, you make the statement that, For future reclaznatron by the
operator, landowner, or another party, an appropriate amount of topsoil will be left in a
noticeable, shaped, and seeded stockpile within 50 feet of mineral stockpiles remaining after
final reclamation." There should be no mineral stockpiles remaining after reclamation and
there should definite) b no topsoil stockpiles remaining after reclamation. All mineral
stockpiles should be removed from the permit azea or used in reclamation. All available ,
topsoil should be used in reclamation. Please explain your statement.
Your next sentence, same paragraph, says that "oversized aggregate not sold, crushed or
used elsewhere on the project will be utilized as erosion protection materials:' Please
explain this statement. Where and how do you propose to use it? What is the approximate
size of the oversized aggregate? Unless the material is needed to return the site to pasture
laud, it is probably best if it is buried in a backfill prior to final reclamation.
Your next sentence, same paragraph states, "Fines will be incorporated into fills or will be
utilized as plant growth media." Fines alone, unless it is absolutely the only material
variable, should not be used as plant growth media. Crusher fines, especially granitic rock,
~bEtgenerally highly erosive and lack nutrients. Please describe how you will be able to use
fines successfully as a plant growth medium. These materials can usually only be used
successfully if they are placed on a relatively level surface and are highly amended with
organic matter. If this material is used in fills, where will it be used?
For all non portable buildings, provide information regarding the type of material they will
be constructed of, the size of the building and the dimensions and materials used for
footings, floors and foundations, including whether or not rebar will be used. This
information is needed for bond calculation purposes. Provide this information for the scale,
and scale house also.
3
