EXHIBIT D `3 ~
Recl$mation Plan
The proposed reclamation of the site will return the area to rangeland. The operator will replace
overburden and topsoil over the entire site with the volume that was stripped prior to mining.
Since there is a limited amount of topsoil available, it is expected that mulching of the soil will
be done to promote plant growth.
Grading
All slopes into the pit will be graded at a 3:1 slope. The grading will be compazable to the
existing topography and will be compatible with the proposed reclamation after use as rangeland.
Drainage around the pit area is primarily confined to sheet flows. These flows will be contained
and routed around the pit. They will not be concentrated to the point of creating any adverse
impacts off-site.
Upon completion of mining the azea will be seeded using the following mix obtained from the
local SCS office located in Gunnison, Colorado. The seed mix is as follows:
PROPOSED RECLAMATIONSEED MIX
Manchar Smooth Brome 8.0
Russian W ildrye (Bowisky) 2_5
TOTAL 13.3
• Application rate is for drilling the seed. If seed is broadcast then application rate should 6e doubled.
Fertilizer should be applied at a rate of 40 Ibs per acre. A nitrogen/phosphorous compound (20-
20-0) is recommended.
Native grass hay mulch will be applied using a disc to crimp it into the ground to a depth of four
inches. The application rate of the mulch will be two tons per acre. If native hay is unavailable,
then a straw mulch will be substituted. All mulching materials will be free of weed seed as much
as possible.
There aze no acid forming materials or toxic materials on the site that will pose any problems
with the reclamation.
It is anticipated that the average replacement of overburden on the site will be six to nine inches.
It is also anticipated that the average replacement of topsoil will be three to six inches on the site.
Whinnery Pit
DMG 110 Pcnnit Appliation
