Map 32, Kerr Mine Area Soil Replacement and Revegetation <br />also delineates the complete soil handling plan. <br />Refi"Tipple Area <br />Topsoil will be encountered and removed during the regrading pro- <br />cess of the tipple area. This soil will be immediately redis- <br />tributed as required under Section 816.24. <br />Marz Mine"Aiea <br />The soil redistribution plan for the Marr Mine Area is found on Map <br />32, Kerr Mine Area Soil Replacement and Revegetation. All of the <br />topsoil to be stripped in the Marr Mine Area has been stripped and <br />stockpiled pending redistribution beginning in 1981. <br />• <br />Section 816.22 Topsoil: Removal. <br />(a) Timing. Topsoil shall be removed after vegetative cover that would <br />interfere with the use of the topsoil is cleared from the areas to be <br />disturbed, but before any drilling, blasting, mining, or other surface <br />disturbance. <br />Rert"Ndtth'Area <br />The area to be disturbed for mining contains no trees, large <br />shrubs, or other plant material that would interfere with the <br />usefulness of the soil. Vegetation data detailing this is found in <br />Section 779.19, and on Map 18, Kerr Mine Area Vegetation. A buffer <br />zone of approximately 750 feet will be stripped of topsoil and <br />subsoil in front of overburden drilling and blasting operations. <br />816-6 <br />
