SECTION IA.2.a.2
SURFACE WATER MONITORING PLAN
HAYDEN GULCH MINE
The surface water monitoring plan has been established to monitor water
quantity and quality of surface runoff in the mine and load-out areas. This
plan delineates sampling frequency and analytical parameters to be completed
on Hayden Gulch and Dry Creek.
Sampling in Hayden Gulch will be completed twice yearly: once during spring
snow melt and once during a storm event. Sampling sites have been estab-
lished upstream and downstream of the mine area in Hayden Gulch (refer to
surface water monitoring map). Flow measurements and water samples will be
taken at each site. Each sample will be analyzed for the parameters out-
lined in Table 1.
Sampling in Dry Creek will be completed twice yearly; once during spring
snowmelt and once during a storm event. Samples will be collected upstream
and downstream as illustrated on the load-out area sampling site map. Flow
measurements and water samples will be taken at each site. Each sample will
be analyzed for the parameters outlined in Table 1.
TABLE 1
SURFACE WATER QUALITY PARAMETERS
pH (fieldl Ammonia
Conductivity at 25°C (field) Nitrate
Temperature (field) Sodium
Dissolved Oxygen (field) Sulfate
Turbidity (field) Aluminum
Total Suspended Solids Boron
Total Dissolved Solids Copper
Total Combustible Solids Iron
Ratio
Sodium Adsorption lead
_
Bicarbonate (HCO 3) Manganese
Calcium Molybdenum
Flouride Selenium
Magnesium Zinc
Rev.
