(b) For surface coal mining activities the plan shall include a <br />map, prepared to the standards of 2.10 which shall show <br />the location of each facility to be used to protect and <br />enhance fish and wildlife and related enviornmental values. <br />RESPONSE <br />' Response to 2.05.6(2) is consistent with 4.18 Permanent Perfor- <br />mance Standards as follows: <br />4.18 PROTECTION OF FISH, WILDLIFE, AND RELATED ENVIRONMENTAL <br />VALUES <br />(1) Any person conducting surface coal mining operations shall, to the <br />extent possible using the best technology currently available, minimize <br />disturbances and adverse impacts of the operations on fish, wildlife, and <br />related environmental values, and, where practicable, achieve enhancement ' - <br />of such resources. <br />R F.CPf1NCF <br />H-G Coal Company will endeavor to minimize any impact on fish _ <br />and wildlife and to enhance fish and wildlife habitat in its re- <br />• clamation activities where possible. <br />Fish habitat is not present in the permit area. The permit area <br />and adjacent land contain only ephemeral streams. Hayden Gulch <br />is the only stream in the permit area and it flows into the East <br />Fork of the Williams Fork River located approximately 3 miles - <br />south of proposed permit boundry. All disturbed water from the <br />permit area is passed through sedimentation ponds prior to <br />discharge into Hayden Gulch. The discharged water is moni- <br />tored to ensure that it meets all water quality standards. - <br />4.18 (2) A person who conducts surface coal mining operations shall <br />promptly report to the Division the presence in the permit area of: <br />(a) Any threatened or endangered animal or plant species listed or <br />proposed to be listed by the State or Secretary; <br />RESPONSE <br />Information from the baseline vegetation and wildlife studies <br />indicate that there are no threatened or endangered animal or <br />• plant species or proposed to be listed by the State or Secretary <br />in the permit area. - - <br />
