Mr. Mike Lee • Page 2 ~ October. 20, 1982
` ,.
If large changes have occurred on any of the six sites or problems
have developed, the permits may require either amending or revising.
Please consult our Rules and Regulations to determine whether or not such
changes may be necessary in order to make the permits coincide with the
on-the-ground activities. If you are not sure if changes to the permits
are necessary, outline the existing circumstances with each pit in the
annual report, and I wi21 attempt to suggest possible revisions after I
review the reports.
Please review your files for each operation, including the original permit
application materials, subsequent records of operations in the pits, and
my inspection reports in order to assist you in preparing these annual
reports. I will plan to review these reports in order to make each permit
current and will respond to each of the six annual reports in detail.
A review of correspondence indicates that Montezuma County had plans for
a new gravel operation of as much as 90 acres. This caould require
Montezuma County to submit a regular permit (IZ2J application and have it
approved by our Hoard before the mining could commence. Please consult
Rule 2 or call me if you need guidance in the submission of such an
application.
Please feel free to write or call me if you need any further assistance in
this matter.
Sincerely,
"I~Z ~` ~--s~
Mark S.
