Despltc efforts to <br />postpone this meetin; due to the short notice and lack of time to <br />determine the nature of. any problems at the pits that mi•rht have <br />precluded our receipt of ttee permits, we were told failure to appear <br />as scheduled could result in civil pe:Talties ape' fines. <br />On September 23, 1951 Montezuma County did appear in an effort to <br />cooperate and work out an~• misunderstandiu;;s uiCh the Board. During <br />this meeting, tlLe N!in~el Land Reclamation Roard's staff edmitteel that <br />Montezuma Count•~ had submitrecl all necessary applications and that the <br />permits should have been approved by the State several years a;;o.
