Pit backfilling will be performed using over- <br />burden and will be compacted to approximately 90% of the original bulk <br />density by the weight of the earthmoving equipment and the effects of <br />natural settling. <br />The grading will be done to control erosion and siltation and to protect <br />the surface from slides or other damage. Pit benches will be revegetated <br />by planting gees. Backfilling and grading will be continuous with the <br />mining process. (See Exhibit D for timetable). <br />P!o acid-forming or toxic producing materials are anticipated during the <br />life of the mine. If any are encountered they will be handled in <br />• accordance with applicable state and federal regulations to protect the <br />local drainage system. <br />Any drill holes, addits, or shafts will be plugged or sealed to prevent <br />drainage and where practicable backfilling and grading will be <br />performed. <br />Maximum slopes and slope combinations will be compatible with the existing <br />surrounding topography.
