top and crest area of the lift was contoured, topsoiled, and vegetated following
completion of waste rock removal from the facility in 1997.
3. Waste Rock Facility C is located north of the Rito Seco stream channel and
lies behveen the East and West Pits. Construction and concurrent reclamation
of the facility was completed in 1993. The area was contoured, topsoiled, and
vegetated.
4. Waste Rock Facility D is located south of the Rito Seco stream channel and
east of the main haul road. Construction and concurrent reclamation of the
facility was completed in 1994. The area was contoured, topsoiled, and
vegetated.
5. The South Waste Rock Facility is located north of the mine administration and
maintenance facilities and south of the Rito Seco stream channel. The area
covers approximately 35 acres of which approximately 15 acres requires final
reclamation. The majority of the facility was reclaimed in 1995, but the
eastern portion of the facility along the main haul road has not yet been
reclaimed. This section of the facility will be reclaimed when the width of [he
main haul road is reduced.
6. The East Pit has been fully backfilled with waste rock and reclaimed as
discussed in the Mine Pits section.
7. The West Pit has been partially backfilled with waste rock and reclaimed as
discussed in the Mine Pits section.
The West Pit diversion channel system was constructed as shown on Figure 1, adjacent to
many of the waste rock areas to collect and convey runoff, minimizing potential erosion.
The diversions were designed and constructed to meet the 10-yeaz, 24-hour event design
standard. Containment of runoff up to the 10-year, 24-hour event is provided via the
retention ponds located as shown on Figure 1.
Maintenance and Administration Buildines
The administration and maintenance facilities consisted of the administration office, mine
maintenance shop, warehouse, and laboratory, which are no longer owned or controlled
by BMRI. The ownership of these facilities and a 35-acre parcel of land on which these
facilities are situated has been transferred to the CCNRCS for the development of an
industrial pazk complex. BMRI does not operate this azea and therefore, this plan does
not address these locations. Figure 1 depicts the location of these facilities and the
transferred parcel of property.
Buti[e Mountain Resources, /nc.
