Fuel Storage and Refueling Area
The fuel storage and vehicle refueling areas that were used during active operations have
been decommissioned and await final reclamation. The area is north of the mine
maintenance building as shown on Figure 1. Fuels were stored in above-ground tanks
and were contained within a geomembrane-lined area capable of retaining 110 percent of
the largest vessel staged within the containment area. Each of these storage tanks was
removed from the property during decommissioning.
Mine Equipment Ready Line
Mine equipment (i.e., haul trucks, blades, loaders, etc.) was parked on the ready line
north of the mine maintenance facility while inactive and when not undergoing
maintenance. Currently, the ready line area is used to store incidental equipment
associated with reclamation activities. The area is scheduled for final reclamation in
either 2003 or 2004. Reclamation shall include soil characterization for potential
hydrocarbon sources and mitigation, if necessary. The area will be ripped to alleviate
surface soil compaction, contoured, topsoiled, and vegetated. Stormwater runoff from
this azea drains to a sediment pond equipped with sorbent booms to allow skimming and
separation of oils from the stormwater prior to release.
Crusher and Ore Stocknile Area
' Ore from the pit was either stockpiled at the crusher facility located east of the mill or
was fed directly to the crusher. Primary crushing of the ore was accomplished with a jaw
' crusher to reduce the run-of--mine ore to the desired size. From the crusher, ore was
carried via an overhead conveyor to a crushed ore stockpile and then fed to the mill via
' underground pan feeder belts. At the completion of mining operations, ore contained
within the stockpile was campaigned through the crusher and milling facilities. This ore
campaigning was completed during November 1996. Runoff from the remaining
foundation area drains to the tailing disposal area and adjacent sediment ponds. These
' azeas have been decommissioned and await final equipment and structure dismantling
and removal followed by reclamation of the areas. These azeas will be contoured,
topsoiled, and vegetated.
Battle Mountain Resources, Inc. Telesto Solutions, Inc.
' rnn luu rmrmwmrmnnagemmtplaadx 6 May 3, 2002
