extent possible these structures have been designed and constructed to be easily
accessible to facilitate maintenance.
Natural vegetation is used where possible to reduce sediment pollution. These areas
should require little or no maintenance. Sediment control structures such as rock/hay
bale check dams and sediment basins will require periodic sediment removal. The
particle size of the sediment makes it easily transportable by water. Therefore, sediment
removed from the sediment control structures will be disposed of in the lined tailing
disposal azea, which is not subject to potential dischazge and upgradient flows.
As part of the Good Housekeeping Practices, all trash and refuse, including oils, grease,
fuels, chemicals, water treatment sludge, and sanitary waste will be removed offsite and
disposed of in an approved facility. Removal of trash and refuse greatly simplifies
implementation of the BMPs and makes maintenance of the stormwater facilities much
easter.
8.0 STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLAN ADMINISTRATION
8.1 General
The Site Environmental Coordinator will serve as the Stonnwater Administrator for the
mme.
Facilitv Inspection Protocol
Semi-annual inspections of all stormwater facilities and structures will be conducted by
the Stormwater Administrator as part of the overall Stormwater Management Plan
(SWMP) to inspect and administer all BMPs and Good Housekeeping Practices. Any
observed deviations from the SWMP will be recorded on the inspection and maintenance
forms contained in Appendix A, conditions will be corrected, and the deviation and
action taken will be recorded. Annual inspection records will be maintained at the mine
property for a period of at least five years.
Battle Mountain Resources, Inc.
