2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES -
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
Timber Storace Area
The timber storage area, constructed southwest of the mine site
facilities, was utilized for general storage of mine equipment
and supplies. The area is located in the NW1/9 NW1/4 of Section
25, T.13.S., R.92.W., 6th P.M. and was constructed starting in
1975, with final grading completed in June, 1978. Vegetation of fill slopes is in accordance
with section 2.05.4, Reclamation General Requirements.
Approximately 17,000 tons of run-of-mine coal remain stored in
this area. The operator plans to include this material in the
backfill material of the East Mine during the restoration of
approximate original contours.
Environmental Monitorino Stations
Several environmental monitoring stations are located throughout
the mine site, storage, and load-out areas, as shown on Maps 91
and 41A, 8-1, and 8A8. The monitoring stations collect data as
required by Section 2.05.6(1) Air Pollution Control Plan, and
Section 2.05.6(3) Protection of Hydrologic Balance. High-volume
particulate monitoring is no longer required, see Section
2.05.6(1).
