• §2.02.2(2)(c): Narrative description of the proposed exploration area, <br />cross - referenced to Maps included herewith and made a <br />part of this application. <br />Location <br />The XPA is in Township 12 & 13 South, Range 91 West, 6 Principle Meridian, in <br />eastern Delta County, Colorado. The area of interest is shown on Figure 1, proposed <br />seismic lines, showing surface faults. The general area of this exploration plan <br />includes portions of: <br />Township 12 South Range 91 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 32: S %:SE' /.NW' /,, S %SW' /.NE %., Lots 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16 <br />Section 33: Lots 5, 12, 13 <br />Township <br />13 South, Range 91 West, 6th P.M. <br />Section 4: <br />W' /� <br />Section 5: <br />All <br />Section 6: <br />E'' /z <br />Section 7: <br />E' /z <br />Section 8: <br />All <br />Section 17: <br />NYzNY= <br />Containing 2,980 acres, more or less. <br />• Surface in the XPA is owned by the Federal Government, Hughes and Bowie. Coal <br />ownership is not relevant to this application. <br />Topography <br />The moderately rugged terrain of the XPA consists primarily of the East and West Fork <br />Terror Creek drainages and the ridges that separate them. Elevations vary from <br />approximately 8,400 feet at the northwest of the XPA to 6,500 feet where Terror Creek <br />exits the XPA, for a maximum relief of about 1,900 feet, Topography is shown on all on <br />the drawings <br />The project area is accessible by Stevens Gulch Road, some well defined Jeep trails, <br />the remnants of earlier exploration roads and a major access road along Terror <br />Creek. Travel access is gained primarily from the east by the Terror Creek Road and <br />from the south by Stevens Gulch Road. Crews would travel daily to the project area <br />in the morning via county roads 4010 (Stephen's Gulch Road) and Forest Service <br />road 4175 (Terror Creek Road) and return to their lodging in the evening. Lodging will <br />be in Paonia, Colorado. <br />The XPA includes portions of the Terror Creek drainage. The West and East Forks of <br />Terror Creek pass through the boundaries of this XPA. The West Fork crosses the XPA <br />from West to East. The East Fork crosses the XPA from North to South. The Terror <br />Creek Reservoir lies northeast of the XPA. <br />• <br />
