Most of these investigations were outside or around the edges <br />of the current project area. The greatest site densities near the project area <br />were recorded by Mesa Verde Research in two sample parcels of the San <br />Miguel Resource Area Inventory. These two parcels along the north edge of <br />the park overlooking the canyon of Tabeguache Creek included 13 prehistoric <br />sites and eight prehistoric isolated finds.
