<br />is a clay material. The Pill slopes contain a mixture oP <br />clay weathered shale, and colluvial material and are very <br />well revegetated with brush Forbs and greases. Other samples <br />in the roadbed indicate basalt cobbles on the surface and <br />in the soil profile underlain by sandstone or shale. The <br />soil is loam from 0 to 12 inches. A borrow area, along the <br />road, exposed weathered sandstone. <br />Most oP the area oP drill site #9 has good soil cover <br />and should revegetate with little addition of material. The <br />road between drill site #9 and the turn-off to drill site <br />#8 and #8A has a stony clay roadbed. The lower parts oP the <br />cut slopes contain stony clay while the Pill slopes are a <br />• mixture with 16 inches oP loam, clay loam, and stony clay. <br />Some.oP the cut slopes have exposed weathered or Fractured <br />sandstone and moderately deep soils. <br />Road to Drill Site #9A <br />.This road was not accessible but it appeared that the <br />lower part of the road contained colluvial material. The <br />switchback area seemed to have a shallow soil cover, similar <br />to other steep areas. <br />Drill Site #10 <br />This site contained a Jerry loam-like soil. About <br />three-Fourths oP the site is weathered shale without topsoil. <br />The perimeter of the site has a mixture oP about thirty inches <br />• <br /> <br /> <br />
