• and profile descriptions for further information. The
ultimate revegetation/reclamation of this area will be
addressed in the mining and reclamation plan or supporting
documents for the Mine.
1.7 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Salvage depth for undisturbed topsoils occurring in
the pad area are shown in various tables and addressed in
the discussion of the four topsoil classes and in the map
unit descriptions. The discussion of the four classes (1.6
DISCUSSION) also shows that the deeper, high quality soils
are suitable for use as a topdressing or for blending with
• lesser quality topsoil materials in areas lacking suitable
material.
Cut slopes of the existing road network will require
the greatest effort (e.g., hydroseed in some areas) to
reestablish a maintenance free vegetative cover. Cut slopes
should be left moderately rough with stones in place. This
technique will establish variable micro-environments to speed
up the establishment of vegetation. Cut elopes that are 2:1
(27 degrees) or less should be left rough and undulating
with stones in place. This will inc °ase water infiltration,
decrease surface soil temperatures, and provide variable
micro-environments to speed up vegetation establishment.
•
_27 _.
