Reclamation will be two lakes, the ~vestern <br />1 <br /> one approximately 17.61 acres more or less, and the e,istern <br />' lake approximately 15.00 acres, more or less. The lakes <br /> will be properly sloped with 3:1 slopes from ten feet below <br />' the average seasonal water line to five feet above they average <br /> seasonal water line. Total affected land area <br /> is 46.55 acres, more or less. <br />' The area to be reclaimed is just west of the Plate <br /> <br /> River and divided into two parts by the Lowline Ditch i:see <br /> map, Exhibit F). The area proposed to be dredged is within <br />' a mile of the City of Sterling and can be preserved in a <br /> natural state for the enjoyment of the people of the area. <br /> The Game and Fish Club of Northeast Colorado has agreed to <br />' take over management of the area (see Lease in Appendix). <br /> It is the desire of the owners of the land and minerals that <br /> the area Ue preserved in this manner. It would be possible to <br /> fill the lakes witi~ acceptable fill material and regrade to <br /> elevations above the flood plain, thus creating valuable land <br />' for industrial use as Sterling grows; however, the owners do <br /> not consider this type of reclamation to be the highest and <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br />
