The reclamation plan for Wining will now include preparing
an area that will provide suitable habitat to allow prairie
dogs to re-establisY. from habitat lost by mining.
2. The mineral extraction operation is not proposed to operate
during the winter months when eagles are found to be
roosting in the vicinity. If C & H Companies finds it
necessary to operate the gravel operation during the winter
months, they will contact the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
a minimum of 48 hours prior to beginning operations to allow
the staff to study the impacts of the operation on the
birds.
3. C & H Companies will begin the re-establishment of wetlands
prior to mining. An area of five acres will be mined and
backfilled as shown. This area will have water diverted
into it through the Coffin and Davis Ditch to encourage
plant growth.
