The site's
limited horizontal extent and lack of diagnostic artifacts support this
conclusion. Field ot~aervations indicate tat the site has no apparent depth,
suggesting that important data is not buried in the site.
Site 5RB 1053 is a sparse scatter of debitage, located on a low ridge bisected
by small gullies. Present are 21 flakes, predominantly chert, in an area
measuring 75 m by 52 m. Most artifacts were found in washes and gullies,
suggesting that the site has been subject to considerable erosion. No features
or prepared tools were found. This site is not considered eligible to the
National Register of Historic Places. The impact of erosion has likely largely
destroyed the site's integrity, reducing the site's potential for yielding
information important to prehistory.
This site possibly represents the remains of a campsite, located atop a ridge.
Present is a concentration of sandstone slabs that are oxidized on one surface.
The soil amongst the slabs is stained by charcoal. The site is located on an alluvial terrace
zest of Red Wash. No artifacts were present. This site is not considered
eligible to the National Register of Historic Places. Site 5RB 1059 is considered
ineligible for nominal;ion to the National Register of Historic Places. The
site's recent age and the fact that no further information is likely to be
gleaned from the site (i.e., no buried deposits) support this conclusion.
This site consists of approximately 25 chert flakes in an area measuring 20 m by
30 m. The Bite is located atop a juniper-covered ridge, on the east side of
Scullion Gulch. No prepared tools or features xere visible. The rather limited
horizontal extent of the site and the lack of diagnostic artifacts suggest that
5RB 1063 is not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
