' 3.3 Best Management Practices (BMP's)
' The best management practices to be employed at the site ultimately involve the successful
completion of final reclamation at the mine site. The following BMP's aze currently employed at
the Cazbon Junction Mine.
• Prevention of pollutants from entering the mine site. Clean water diversions currently
divert upstream undisturbed water away from the mine site.
• Limiting Access. The mine site is gated to minimize unauthorized entry and usage by
those who would cause disturbance to the reclamation, generating additional sediment
loading.
• Maintenance of the sediment control system. A network of sediment control ditches
conveys water form the (formerly) disturbed azea to one of two sediment ponds. Where
temporary erosion occurs, silt fence, straw bales, erosion logs, or riprap are installed to
minimize further erosion.
• Revegetation. All formerly disturbed azeas of the mining operation (with the exception of
the access road that has been approved for retention) have been regraded, re-topsoiled,
mulched, and revegetated.
• Inspections. A qualified representative of Oakridge Energy, Inc. conducts regulaz
inspections of the mine site at least quarterly to evaluate reclamation success, and the need
for maintenance at the site.
4.0 Comprehensive Inspection and Record Beeping Procedures
As described above, inspections of the mine site take place on a calendaz quarter basis at a
minimum. The personnel currently approved for these inspections include:
• Michael S. Savage, Principal, Savage and Savage Environmental, Windsor, Colorado
• Edith A. Savage, Principal, Savage and Savage Environmental, Windsor, Colorado
• Brian F. Duff, P.E., Presidem, Goff Engineering and Surveying, Inc., Durango, Colorado
• Matthew Gavin, E.I.T., GoffEngineering and Surveying, Inc., Durango, Colorado
• Sandra Pautsky, President, Oakridge Energy, Inc., Wichita Falls, Texas
A report of the findings of the requved annual inspection will be available at the following
locations:
Savage and Savage Environmental
4610 Haystack Drive
Windsor, Colorado 80550
970.674.8080
Goff Engineering & Surveying
126 Rock Point Drive
Durango, Colorado 81301
970.247.1705
Oakridge Energy, Inc.
4613 Jacksboro Highway
Wichita Falls, Texas 76302
940.322.4772
