and materials in transit and will not be used to stockpile any materials other than straw
bales, straw wattles and reclamation supplies
In addition to those areas mentioned above MCC requests the use of flat spots at
the intersections of the RAV-1 spur and the West Bench Road and the former exploration
hole (01-23-1) site at the intersection of the 23-03 spur and the West Flatiron Road for
parking Chesnik Construction's equipment. The RAV-1/West Bench road intersection
site would be reclaimed by discing, seeding, and mulching at the end of the drilling
season. The former exploration hole was finished for future use as an MDW well to take
advantage of its location to assist in the liberation of methane from Pane123.
The requested staging area locations are provided on the attached Map 3. MCC
will field locate the staging areas and the placement of the drill pads with approval by the
responsible USFS representative.
RECLAMATION PLAN
Reclamation activities of pads and roads will follow when it is decided by MCC
that the drill holes are not performing their intended purpose. As roads and pads can be
downsized to accommodate operation of the exhausting blowers, MCC, will to the extent
possible, conduct contemporaneous reclamation.
1. Upon completion of each phase of activity at a given site, all debris, trash, and
drilling related equipment, or de-gas housing will be removed from the site.
2. When the mud pit or pits are sufficiently dry, they will be filled with stored
soil material and compacted to minimize any settling.
3, A backhoe and a bulldozer will redistribute material on and around the drill
pad to achieve as closely as practicable the original contour of the site. The
area will then be ripped or scarified.
4. Stored topsoil will be distributed as evenly as possible over the disturbed pad
area.
5. The entire drill pad area and reclaimed roads will be re-seeded using an
approved USFS seed mix or mixes as directed by the USFS. The following
seed mix is a seed mix that has been approved by the USFS for drill sites on
adjacent lands: 3 (~ - ~- J NP~C S~ ~/~r c-~i .. .
Species
PLS lb/Acre
Mountain Brome - Bromus marginatus 5
Prairie junegrass - Koelaria cristata 4
Slender Wheatgrass -Agropyron trachycaulum 4
13
