SHOP BUILDING -HYDRAULIC OIL, USED OIL AND USED ANTIFREEZE <br />TANKS <br />There are two outside tanks located on the west side of the shop building. They contain; <br />Hydraulic oil - 1,200 gallons (relocated from the East Portal <br />Antifreeze - 750 gallons <br />Used oil - 2,500 gallons <br />These tanks have a containment structure and are frequently checked for leakage or spills. <br />RAILROAD LOADOUT BUILDING <br />This location has a 10,000-gallon tank containing a "Side Release Agent". This product is <br />used in an antifreeze spray system. The product is piped from the tank to the spraying <br />system location. The tank sits in a containment pad with concrete berms sufficient to contain <br />the total tank contents. The spraying system uses a steel catch basin that drains into a 100- <br />gallon aboveground steel tank that prevents spillage and permits recycling of the product. <br />RAILROAD MAINTENANCE BUILDING <br />This building has an impervious concrete floor and a large concrete floor sump that contains <br />leakage or spillage during routine operation and maintenance of Railroad locomotive and <br />cars. The sump water is pumped to a 500 gallon Monazch Oil Sepazator unit. Rack mounted <br />55-gallon oil and lubricant drums are also present in this building. There are metal trays <br />under each spigot to catch any leakage or spillage. <br />USED OIL HEATER TANKS <br />There are two tanks for the storage of used oil. Used oil is used to fuel oil space heaters. <br />The used oil tanks are; <br />250-gallon tank located at the Sample Building and is on a concrete pad with <br />foundation walls sufficient to contain any leakage or spillage of product. <br />2. 1,000-gallon tank located on a stand near the Dozer Shed at the refuse disposal azea <br />2-3. It is surrounded by an earthen berm sufficient to contain any leakage or spillage. <br />COUNTER MEASURES <br />If Deserado Mine experiences a spill, top priority will be given to containment and removal <br />of the product that has entered any body of water or tributaries. Contractor assistance will <br />be employed to pump large spills into tanker trucks and disposed of in an approved location. <br />6/22/98 <br />
