Based on the permit information, Outfall 005 is located at 38° 56.68 north, 107° 31.78 west. Outfa11006 is also known as Piped Minewater. It is an outfall from the portal of Bowie Mine #2, and eventually flows to Outfall 003. The water dischazging from Outfa11006 is first settled in a mine sump, then pumped to the surface. This is a new outfall, and dischazge monitoring data has not been submitted. Outfa11006 is located at 38° 55.83 north, 107° 32.90 west. Outfa11007 is also known as Pond J. It is a settling pond for the train loadout, and is currently under construction, This is a new outfall, and dischazge monitoring data has not been submitted. Outfa11007 is located at 38° 55.28 north, 107° 32.09 west. Outfall 004 is for the domestic wastewater treatment system. This facility's treatment operator in responsible charge is Don DeGraffenried. Mr. DeGraffenried holds a current Class C wastewater treatment operators license, #C-3071. Mr. DeGraffenried's qualifications meet the standards of Section 100.5.2 of the Water and Wastewater Facility Operators Certification Requirements Re lug ation for this facility. The collection system for the facility is entirely within the Bowie No. 2 Mine property. Based on Section 100.2.22 of the Onerators Regulation, a certified collection system operator is not required. Outfalls 001, 002, 003, 005, 006, and 007 are for the industrial wastewater treatment system. These facilities are not operated by a Class D industrial wastewater treatment operator, as required by Section 100.6.2 of the Regulation. Facility conditions aze accurately reflected by Amendment #3 of the current permit. During our inspection, the following items were noted and need to be brought to your attention: The industrial wastewater treatment facilities aze not under the supervision of a properly certified industrial wastewater operator. Mr. DeGraffenried's Class C domestic wastewater treatment operator certification may be an acceptable substitute for this requirement. Bowie Resources will be contacted on this issue by Betsy Beaver, the Division's liaison with the Plant Operator's Board.
