• Section 776.11 (b) Continued.
Where possible, drillhole sites will be located next to existing roads and trails. If
necessary, a bulldozer will be used to construct a level bench for the drill after
topsoil is removed. Existing roads and trails will be utilized wherever possible, and
movement byequipment across undisturbed terrain will be kept to a minimtrm,
Except where deferred reclamation is appropriate, as described at the end of this
section, if existing roads or trails are disturbed by the exploration activities, they will
be bladed and returned to a condition equal to or better than their condition prior
to the commencement of the exploration activities. New or additional roads will be
constructed only immediately prior to the drilling operations. At the conclusion of
the exploration activity and except where deferred reclamation is appropriate, new
or additional roads will be bladed and reseeded. All roads will have water bars
and/or culverts installed, if necessary, to prevent excessive erosion.
• Fire protection will be maintained by keeping all trash and debris from
accumulating. Adequate fire extinguishers will be maintained and available at each
drilling site.
Except as provided below, the drilling sites, at the conclusion of exploration
activity, will be cleaned of trash and debris, leveled, retopsoiled, scarified and
reseeded to prevent sor7 erosion. Upon completion of the necessary surface
preparation, the affected areas mill be seeded according to the reclamation plan
described in Section 780.11. The seeding of rehabilitated drill sites and access road
locations will be accomplished in the first favorable seeding season upon
completion -during the fall or early spring. The re-establishment of vegetation on
drillhole sites and abandoned roads, after exploration activities are concluded, is the
planned method to prevent possible soil erosion.
•
7763
Pemvt Renewa104 Revised -June 2001
