the environment from adverse impacts as a result of the exploration
activities.

Although pursuant to In Re Permanent Surface Mining"Regulation
Litigation, F. Supp _, 14 ERC 1083 (1980), submittal of a map
• is no longer required. For convenience of the regulatory author-
ities, the area of exploration will be the same as the mine plan
area shown on Map 1, Kerr Mine Plan. This map is at a scale of
1"=500' or 1:6,000.
The period of the intended exploration is five years.
Pursuant to In Re Permanent Surface Mining Regulation Litigation,
F. Supp _, 14 ERC 1083 (1980), Kerr Coal is no longer re-
quired to give a description of the basis of its right to enter the
area to be explored. In the event this requirement is repromul-
gated, Kerr Coal will supply all information required.
A description of the practices to be followed to protect the envi-
ronment from possible adverse impacts as a result of the explora-
tion activities are set forth in Exhibit 6, Coal Exploration L1-
