_gg_
MS. BALDRIGE: Right, and the other reason for doing that is that there's
no problem of operating in winter months.
Battle Mountain must monitor the ground water fora post-reclamation
period. The monitoring in place for both the surface and ground water, as
explained in Exhibit G of the permit application, will continue to be in place
until such time as revegetation is established and the Mined Land Reclamation
Division recommends bond release.
Battle Mountain does not plan to reclaim the waste rock piles to an
uninterrupted slope. An uninterrupted slope would enhance any erosion that
could occur on those slopes. The reason for putting benches in is to allow
some maintenance of those slopes during the period of revegetation, until
vegetation is sufficiently established.
MR. ENTZ: Anne, excuse me, I want to go back to the F fora second.
What intervals are you going to take sampling?
MS. BALDRIGE: The sampling is based on a quarterly monitoring; four
times each year.
MR. ENTZ: Quarterly? That's all?
MS BALDRIGE: Except on the leach pad during detoxification, sampling
will be much more frequent to insure that detoxification is successful.
Minimum once each month.
MR. HOLDER: I don't think this statement meant to imply that you should
grade it to a uniform slope. I think it's really talking about the average
slope. We had asked for 3 1/2 to 1 overall, and you're committing to 3 to 1?
MS. BALDRIGE: Overall, that's correct.
MR. RENNER: That was adequate.
