Mr. J.R. Owen -6- December 7. 1984
Exhibit E
5 tl. Reclamation (including revegetation) of areas to be disturbed outside
S L~~,' of the creek bed should also be described (e.g., clay pit, stockpile areas,
.`haul road, etc.). The S.C.S. may be helpful in this regard.
2. Bank areas of the creek above typical high water may need to be
revegeated as well as sloped to 3:1 or less. Please clarify the plans as
concerns disturbing such areas and, if needed, consult with the S.C.S. ort a
revegetation plan.
Withington Pit - File No. ht-84-186
Exhibit B
1. Topsoil should be protected from potential stream flows by being
stockpiled up out of the stream channel. The same is true of the product
stockpiles (if any). What are the stockpiles now shown on the map? Please
clarify this matter.
2. What is the planned direction of mining along the creek bottom?
Exhibit D
1. Please
explain further.
Exhibit E
1. Which parts of the disturbed area are actually to be revegetated as
part of the reclamation plan? If the whole area is to be revegetated, I
presume that this is because the drainage channel flows so seldom. Please
clarify the plans in this regard. How is this dry creek operation different
from the other creek bottom pits as concerns revegetation of the channel area
itself?
Lincoln County Pit.- File No. M-84-187
Exhibit A
1. An examination of one of your maps indicates that perhaps a part of the
NE 1/4 SE 1/4 of Section 24 should also be apart of the legal description.
Please explain this matter.
Exhibits B and C
1. Under a limited impact (110) permit, the maximum amount of acreage to
be included in the permit area must be less than 10 acres. Thus, the County
cannot permit the entire area they own. On the other hand, the acreage that
is actually to be permitted must be described precisely. The permit area you
