C~
Section 785.19(c) Continued
Revised 1/28/80
documenting the amount of water available fran May 1 to September 15 for
more than one-third of most years, it has been specified that water
available fran the entire year should be used, provided that reservoir
storage of water from snowmelt and runoff is a comm~n practice in the
regional area. Local conditions of evapotranspiration and consultive
use by vegetation can be documented and used to determine a realistic
quantity of irrigation water in acre-feet per acre of irrigable land.
According to the Guidelines, legal water availability is not a criteria
for determining flood irrigation capability for the purpose of identify-
. ing alluvial valley floors.
Exhibit 27, Irrigation Feasibility Study, has incorporated all of the
above criteria into a crnprehensive docwnPnt of flood irrigation capa-
bility. The Irrigation Feasibility Study is based on the best informa-
tion and technology currently available and concludes that artificial
flood irrigation in the subject area is not economically feasible.
AERIAL PHOTDGf2APH ANALYSIS
Color infrared aerial photographic coverage of the mine plan, adjacent,
and general area was provided by OSM personnel in Denver, Colorado. A
s~nple of three color infrared aerial photographs with interpretations
by a private consultant is provided in Exhibit 12, Color Infrared Aerial
• Photography.
765-9(ee)
