Revised 1/11/80
• Section 785.19(c) Continued
Geomorphic Characteristics
The investigation was initiated by mapping unconsolidated deposits
within the general area, using published and unpublished geologic
maps. Information was used from the Geologic Map of Routt County,
Colorado Geologic Survey, 1975, by A. E. Miller; Reconnaisance of
Ground-Water Resources in a part of the Yampa River Basin between
Craig and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, U.S. Geologic Survey Water-
Resources Investigations Report 77-4, 1977, by R. E. Borgden and
T. F. Giles; and Surface Geologic Map of the Twentymile Park Area,
1977, proprietary map by Amuedo and Ivey, Consultant Geologists,
Denver, Colorado. The above referenced maps were drawn using
aerial photography and ground reconnaisance. The information
caviled fran these references was verified by field observations
in May, 1979 by Energy Fuels personnel.
The alluvial, terrace and landslide deposits more than 30 feet in
width in the drainages of Middle, Foidel and Fish Creek and their
associated stream channels are shown on the Twentymile Park Hydrol-
ogy (Map 6). Also shown are delineations of the Middle, Foidel and
Fish Creek watersheds and the general topography of the flood plain
areas.
Fran field reconnaisance, it was found that most of the mapped
flood plains in the general area are too narra.~ (less than 30 feet
• wide) or contain too much topographic relief in the form of slope
785-9(b)
