. 5
6~ p
I
Revised 1/11/80
• Section 785.19(c) Continued
General
A field investigation and technical evaluation of all drainages
containing streams within and adjacent to the mine plan area has
been conducted in accordance with this Section and the draft OSM
Technical Guideline, "Technical Identification and Study of Alluvial
Valley Floors", dated revised August 15, 1978. The scope of the
investigation was carried from reconnaisance of the general area
defined on the Twentymile Park Hydrology (Map 6) to detailed research
of a specific study area. The investigation was conducted using
the scientific method of reviewing available literature; defining
the categories of data collection and the areas to be studied in
• detail; crollecting field data and observations; assimilating data
into tables, diagrams and maps; interpreting the data in each
category; and finally drawing general conclusions. In accordance
with the OSM Guideline, this report is divided into four major sub-
headings: Geomorphic Characteristics; Water Availability character-
istics; Effects on Essential Hydrologic Functions; and Conclusions.
In summary, the irrvestigation resulted in the conclusion that no
alluvial valley floors exist in the active mine plan area, and the
further conclusion that the essential hydrologic functions of any
alluvial valley floors which may exist within the general area will
not be adversely affected by mining operations.
n
U
785-9(a)
