zoo
~i
site: 5MF335 (Fig. 5).
site Type: Open 1 i thi c.
z,ocacion: NE;SW;, Sec. 6, T5n, R91w; UTM Zone 13, E274,640.m., N4 ,476,985m.;
adjacent to Tract 13,
River flood plain. The site elevation is 6260 ft. (1,908 m.). Vegetation
on the site is limited to sagebrush and grasses in the immediate area, with
willows, cottonwood, and hay on the flood plain some 75 m. to the east. The
site is situated near the edge of the terrace on an east-facing slope.
Description: 5MF335 is on the high terrace overlooking the Williams Fork
5MF335 is composed of several flakes and a biface fragment in an area
~~
approximately 15 m. in diameter. No concentrations were observed, and no
permanent features were recorded. Since the site is located at the foot of
a steep slope, it is possible the cultural deposit might have been trans-
ported from higher up. There is a fenceline 25 m. to the west of the site,
but no other cultural disturbance is evident.
Diagnostic Artifacts: None,
evaluation: 5MF335 has no potential for yielding information important to
prehistory and should not be nominated to the NRHP, However, the site may
have scientific value and should be given further consideration if endangered
by future developments.
