zol <br />!• site: 5MF342 (Fig. 5). <br />site Type: Open lithic. _ <br />Location: SW;NW;, Sec. 21, T5n, R92w; UTM Zone 13, E268,450m., N4 ,472,225m. <br />Description: 5MF342 is composed of a scatter of flakes, projectile point <br />fragments, and flake concentrations in a 40 by 60 m. area. The site is locat- <br />ed high on a northwest-trending ridge above an unnamed seasonal tributary <br />to Milk Creek. The elevation at the site is 7200 ft. (2,195 m.). Vegetation <br />surrounding the site consists of juniper, sagebrush, grasses, and wild onion. <br />Water is available on a seasonal basis in the unnamed drainage, 175 m. to the <br />south. <br />Artifactual materials and flakes were seen in several concentrations in <br />the junipers, and not evenly distributed in the more open areas. No perman- <br />~• eat features were observed. The site is undisturbed, but there is recent <br />trash nearby. SMF341 lies approximately 200 m. to the west. <br />Diagnostic artifacts: Biface fragment, Type ID; and projectile point frag- <br />ments, Type IA, IB. <br />evaluation: 5MF342 has no potential for yielding information important to <br />prehistoryand should not be nominated to the NRHP. The site requires no fur- <br />ther action. <br /> <br />
