Excavation will begin at the northwest corner of the
1 pit area. A dry wash has eroded this area to bedrock
and removed the overburden. Gravel will be extracted
from the bank an elevation approzimately one foot
' above the bedrock. Excavation will continue to the
south and east until about three foot depth of overburden
is encountered. Sufficient overburden will be stripped
and stockpiled to accomplish reclamation. Overburden
in excess of that required for reclamation will be used
as construction material. Finished backslopes will be
left 2:1 (2 horizontal to 1 vertical) or flatter.
' Drainage from the pit area will be along the wash
which runs through the pit area at present. No water
will be diverted from or to other areas. A pond
' located within the pit area will be removed. Run-off
from the pit area will be impounded to prevent siltation
' of the drainage.
' A crusher will be used to process a portion of the
gravel for use as aggregate base, pipe bedding and other
construction p urposes. When a sufficient area has been
' excavated the equipment will be located on the pit
floor and will be screened from view of the adjacent
' properties.
' Haul roads and processing equipment will have water for
dust control, Water will be obtained from the Colorado
' River or purchased from local water companies.

1
