Denver Brick Company AEE Project E95-7064
Stevens Lease Clay Mine January 8, 1999
Douplae County, Colorado page (tyl
• Operations will occur only during daytime hours.
• limiting noise levels to residential standards at the mine property line and
adding the one-half mile distance will serve as a noise buffer to those
properties.
A potential noise source off-site includes haul trucks along the access road between the mine
site and the Crowfoot Valley Road intersection. This noise source can be mitigated by:
• Taking advantage of natural topography as a noise buffer. The nearest
occupied permanent residences to the access road is within 1000 feet of the
intersection on Crowfoot Valley Road. These two residences will be shielded
by a natural hill acting as noise barrier between the access road and the
residences.
4.12 Provtston of Buffering
Additional buffering is not needed. Distance and natural topography are expected to be
sufficient to mitigate both visual and noise impacts to occupants or users in the area, as
discussed in other sections of this application.
4.13 Impacts an County Services
The sole county service to be potentially impacted will be Crowfoot Valley Road. Traffic and
transportation are addressed in a transportation study provided under separate cover.
4.14 Legal Description
Northeast quarter, northwest quarter, Section 8, Township 7 South, Range 66 West of the
Sixth P.M., Douglas County, Colorado.
