• 3.4.1 Ground Cover <br />Review of Tables V2 and V7 and Chart VS indiptes that the average vegetation Dover of this Juniper <br />Woodland community was 26.29%. Litter and rock provided an average of 58.65% and 0.35% of the <br />ground cover, respectively, while bare ground exposure averaged 14.71%. The three dominant plant <br />speces were wild onion, srrowberry and cleavers (Galium spurium) with 7.3%, 4.79/0, and 3.8% of the <br />ground cover, respectively. Perennial plants contributed 67% of the total plant cover (17.53% average <br />cover) while annual species and noxious weeds contributed 33% and 0% of the composition, <br />respectively. Perusal of Table V3 indiotes that a total of eight speces contributed at least 3a/o relative <br />cover. Two of these species were perennial forts, three were shrubs, and the remaining three species <br />were annual forts and grasses. <br />3.4.2 Production <br />Review of Tables V8 and V12 indicates the average herbaceous production of this area in 2003 was <br />84.0 pounds per aae, oven-dry weight. Eighty-four percent (70.8 pounds per acre) of the total <br />herbaceous production is attributable to perennials, witfi grasses contributing 0.6 lbs./acre and forts <br />• providing 70.2 lbs./acre.
