Mr. Archer
13 July 90
Page 2
The "as functioning" ESASP is nearly rectangular in shape (see
accompanying drawing). The high waterline mark is utilized for
• measurements and a measurement reference, for there is no embankment
_ _ break-in-slope on the north bank. The high waterline mark is slightly
irregular and rounded at the impoundment corners, consequently the areas
computed from measurements that define a polygonal shape for the high
waterline are diminished 5 percent to accommodate these irregularities.
Water depth at the pond center is estimated to be 1.5 feet. The "as
functioning" statistics are as follows:
A. Total volume = 0.366 acft
Computations:
Area at embankment break-in-slope (projected)
Rectangular portion of polygon
80.7 X 45.0 X 0.95 = 3450 sgft
Polygonal portion of polygon
[(22.3 X 45) - 0.5 (3 X IO) - 0.5
(22.3 X 16)] 0.95 = 770 sgft
Total = 4220 sgft
Area at high waterline (measured)
• Rectangular portion of polygon
75.0 X 39.0 X 0.95
Polygonal portion of polygon
[(21.7 X 39) - 0.5 (4X 13.5) - 0.5
(21.7 X 15)] 0.95
•
Area at pond bottom (projected)
Rectangular portion of polygon
57.3 X 25.5 X 0.95
Polygonal portion of polygon
[(10 X 25.4) - 0.5 (5 X 5) - 0.5
• (10 X 7.7)] 0.95
= 2779 sgft
= 624 sgft
Total = 3403 sgft
= 1388 sgft
= 193 sgft
Total = 1581 sgft
