6.4.7 EXHIBIT G -Water Information
9. The applicant states on page 16 that they are in the process of applying for a well permit and
temporary substitute supply plan to augment evaporative loss from the mining operation. In
conformance with Rule 3.1.6(1)(a) the Division requests that the operator commit to no exposure
of groundwater at the site until they have provided written evidence of approval of all necessary
plans and permits as required by the Office of the State Engineer. Attached are corrunents from
the Office of the State Engineer.
10. The applicant has specified on page 22 that the project water requirements are estimated to be
32-52 acre-feet / yeaz. As required by Rule 6.4.7(4), please indicate the projected amount from
each of the sources of water to supply the project water requirements for the mining operation
and reclamation.
11. The applicant states on page 22 that this operation is expected to directly affect surface water
systems and lists at least five (5) irrigation ditches that are within or near the permit azea.
Accordingly, please define whether any of these irrigation ditches are unlined, whether there is
any hydrologic communication between any of the ditches and the St. Vraln alluvial aquifer to be
excavated, whether any of the ditches are located upgradient of areas to be dewatered, and
whether any of the ditches will be impacted adversely during dewatering operations (Rule
6.4.7(2)(c)). A prediction of the cone(s) of depression to be expected during dewatering (for
each of the 6 areas to be dewatered and dry mined) will help to define whether there is likely to
be an impact and whether any mitigation measures may be needed. Please address.
12. Please provide a map or Exhibit which shows the location of any wells either on the
permitted azea or within 600 feet of the azea(s) to be excavated. In addition, please provide any
available information (as from the Office of the State Engineer) of the well ownership, total well
depth, depth to water, etc.
6.4.8 EXHBIT H -Wildlife Information
13. On March 13, 2001 the Division sent a notice to the Division of Wildlife (DOW) informing
them of the Fredstrom Resource Regular 112 Application.
